  • I've been using Bleach London's Silver Shampoo for around 8-9 months now, and I'm really impressed.

I have naturally light, ash blonde hair (it's around a level 9), with old highlights running through the ends which are from about a year ago. I started used the Touch of Silver shampoo to try and make my hair more silvery, as it can occasionally go more golden. I wasn't really impressed with Touch of Silver and didn't see much difference.

I picked up a bottle of the Bleach London shampoo in my local Boots for around £5 (it seems quite pricey, but using it once a week made the bottle last quite a few months, there's a lot in there). The first thing you'll notice when you put it on your hands is how pigmented it is! It tends to leave my hands and nails quite purple in the shower, although it does wash off (still, I wouldn't want to leave it on my skin).

Obviously, the lather is what colours and tones the hair, and the lather is quite good from this product. I tend to use quite a lot and leave it on for 5 minutes, which is plenty enough time to tone my hair. Make sure you keep the later off your forehead - I found mine looked quite blue one time!!

Overall, the pigmentation of the product is fantastic. It does leave my hair feeling slightly dry, but this can easily be combatted with a deep conditioner and using it only once a week. It's completely toned my hair (the natural and dyed bits) and I actually had to stop using it for a bit since it turned some bits a bit blue! I do only wash my hair once a week though, and use the shampoo so if you were using alongside washing your hair without it, you probably wouldn't have this problem.

I'm so surprised that no one else has reviewed it yet, it's a blonde's HG product!!!

  • That’s when I stumbled across shampoo bleaching on the internet. Also known as a bleach bath, this is basically mixing shampoo in with your bleach to dilute it, then slapping it on your head. The internet said that this is much less damaging to your hair than normal bleaching, and I was like, “I’ve got nothing to lose. Let’s give it a shot!”

I know some of you guys are hardcore bleach shampoo enthusiasts, so tell me: What’s your method? Do you use this to bleach your roots? Have you used it to strip colour? How long do you leave the bleach mix on? Did I do OK for a first-timer? Should I make a Star Trek reference in every article I write, or just some of them? TELL ME EVERYTHING.
